Amaya Folding Bar

Amaya Folding Bar

Are you one of those people who really admires a well made solid piece of furniture? I know I am;  I love the various grains that appear with different types of woods, the textures in the finishing from smooth to the more rustic and above all, the sheer array of products in numerous styles that can be crafted from this material.

Like everything else, I like my furniture to be that little bit different. That usually means having the opportunity to put my own personal stamp on it. It’s why I steer clear of mass produced items. Instead, I lean towards hand crafted furniture. I find it very satisfying to sketch an idea for a piece of furniture and then have a master craftsman produce it for me. For me the best bit is knowing that I won’t find it in anywhere else, that the piece is unique to me.

Ampara Love Seat

Hand made wooden furniture obviously isn’t the cheapest way to furnish a house and is for many, an unaffordable luxury. But for those that can afford it, what you will get for your money is a piece of furniture that is crafted to the highest standards. It will be crafted from solid wood as opposed to incorporating the use of veneers and importantly in todays eco-freindly environment, from sustainable woods.

Solid hand crafted furniture will also last you a lifetime and therefore can be seen as a worthy investment, especially if you are looking to pass it down as a family heirloom.

Mother of Pearl Coffee Table

Anuhya Interior Collection offers a select range of affordable modern contemporary furniture all hand crafted from solid sustainable woods. From occasional tables to a love seat, contemporary coffee tables to a leather ottoman, our select range of contemporary living room furniture will complement a variety of living spaces.

If however, you looking to put your own mark onto any of our items, then each piece can be customised to suit your individual requirements. This could be in terms of size to suit a particular space or a different finish.  Alternatively, if you are looking for fully bespoke furniture, we can also undertake commissions to create completely unique stand alone pieces.

Steel Blossoms

My Lazy Garden is probably my favourite of all the products featured in Anuhya Interior Collection. As the name suggests, the products are based around the various types of blooms you would find in a garden from a stainless steel vase, stainless steel leaf decorations and stainless steel ornament.  Crafted from stainless steel and laser cut by hand, the products really are unique in both design and looks.

I can easily imagine these products sitting in a very modern loft apartment where the height and space would show off their contemporary looks to the fullest. However,  these modern home accessories could just as easily sit with a number of other interior styles,  adding a touch of the modern to more classical environments or providing an alternative look to dried flowers  traditionally used in country style interiors.

It’s all about placement and one should never be afraid of experimenting with different interior styles. The same can be said for many of the products featured in Anuhya Interior Collection, which have been selected for both their uniqueness and ability to harmonise with a number of interior styles.

The result may be eclectic, but that’s what makes it fun not to mention different. After all, who wants to the same as everyone else?!

One of the first questions I get asked when people come across Anuhya Interior Collection is how to actually pronounce the name of it. The second thing they then invariably ask is where the name comes from.

So for all of you who are wondering the same thing, I thought it was perhaps time I enlightened you!!

The word Anuhya is actually pronounced aah..noo..ya. Derived from an Indian girls name its meaning is simply ‘something unexpected…..in a pleasant way and valuable’.

It was my good friend Jacqui who I had the pleasure of meeting when I was working in Sri Lanka, who suggested the name to me. She felt the meaning of Anuhya summed up what it was I trying the achieve and is essentially what my collection of contemporary home accessories is all about.

So hopefully when you visit my site you will come across many unusual products that you would not expect to find. Certainly I think you will come across products that are different to that typically found on the high street.

The ethos of Anuhya is that visitors to my site will find something of value by virtue of its uniqueness. Of course, if you cannot find what you are looking for then I will always endeavour to try and source it for you!!

Anuhya Interior Collection was borne out of my passion for all thing interiors. I am one of those individuals that has always been interested in other people’s houses. I would walk around and look at each of the rooms, imagining how I would decorate them and in what style if it were my own house. I’d even look at how I would position the furniture!!

But what really fuelled my interest in the world of interiors was the four years I spent living and working in Sri Lanka. Whilst working and on the various travels I undertook across the Indian Sub-Continent and Asia, I came across many unusual home accessories including hand made wooden furniture, table decoration ideas and decorative interiors accessories. So, having arrived in Sri Lanka with just a couple of suitcases, I returned to the UK four years later with a 40 foot container full of personal possessions consisting of furniture, interior accessories, artwork, objet d’art not mention two daschund dogs!! They obviously didn’t travel back in the container, but rather stopped off en-route in Bahrain for 6 months whilst they completed their quarantine.

What I really love about my own personal collection of interior furnishings is the fact that the majority of pieces be it furniture, artwork or interior accessories are unique.  Whether it was a special find that I came across when browsing around the antique yards during my weekends or a bespoke item that I had designed and made to my specific requirements, each piece is different and not what you would typically find in the high street shops here in the UK.

The result is that my collection is pretty eclectic, that yet somehow manages to sit with any number of interior styles from classical to the more contemporary. Every piece has its place and when arranged together the result is an interior environment that is unique, harmonious and timeless.

Anuhya Interior Collection was created so that I could share this ethos of uniqueness with those of you looking for something different from that typically found on the high street. Uniqueness is at the core of everything I do, so I endeavour wherever possible to source products that you would not find elsewhere, many of which are one-off individual pieces.

I am also able to undertake commissions and bespoke work for those who want to create something completely individual and special.

So if you are looking for something a little bit different take a look at Anuhya Interior Collection. You may just find that special something that you have been looking for.
